The set-up is very quick. When using a 3.5" HDD, not even a screwdriver is needed. The NAS consists mainly of hard plastic, including HDD bays. Screws are included for the use of 2.5" HDDs. The findme function did not work for me according to the instructions. Because I entered the MAC addresses in the router beforehand, I was able to complete the installation directly with the IP. Note: The max. volume size is 16 TB, i.e. in a RAID5 with 4 x 8 TB you must set up two volumes to be able to use 24 TB.

I admit my faults for not informing myself before the purchase. I only looked at the price and bought it because I urgently needed a tool to save my work.
I would have appreciated if it was stated in the item description that the tool has been out of production for some time and no longer receives technical support from the supplier, having taken it out of production in 2018.
Apart from that, the NAS still does what I bought it for, but it is no longer updated, and the functions for direct connections in Youtube, Spotify, Droopbox..., to save locally everything in the various clouds and channels, no longer work as they do not have the updates on the connection protocols.

It was very easy to set up. It just asked for a backup of the data at startup. What is a bit negative is that it has very few resources so it is a bit slow if you use it heavily. Setting up the Zyxek Cloud can also be a bit nerve-wracking. All in all, however, a good device. Value for money is right
Please note: This device supports a maximum of 4 x 6 TB HDDs. I don't really need a NAS for that.
I have equipped the NAS with four different HDs. No problem. Set-up quite easy, lots of videos available for beginners if you can't get to grips with it. Very quiet and quite fast. However, the apps listed on the manual are no longer available. But access via Zyxel drive is good and easy.

So a really good part, even runs smoothly together with my 2 Nas (2 BAY).
I actually wanted to replace my 2 Bay with the new 4 Bay, now I have 2 NAS that work perfectly together and have a total of 22 TB of space, what more could you want?

The NAS is only used for local data backup and serves its purpose perfectly. Since I don't know any other brands, a comparison is difficult.
Perfect as a backup, but for all those who need MediaCenters, upload pictures, films, etc. and want to use them, Synology is clearly a better choice. The apps are poor and weak. I use direct access via scripts that back up my data to it and this works well, but I couldn't imagine using it for anything else.

In the advertising, the installation is presented as easy in just a few steps. We managed the installation with a lot of effort. There is no support from Digitec. They only want to sell! Zyxel support in Switzerland is provided by an external company and is extremely complicated.
After I had loaded thousands of photos onto the hard drive, it was hacked, the photos encrypted and a request for payment in Bitcoin on the Darknet.
Now it sits there unused, waiting to be disposed of. Actually, I would like to dispose of it personally at Digitec (or throw it over the sales counter), but the effort is too much for me.
There will be no more orders from me. You have lost an old customer. But I know you couldn't care less.
