Sonos replacement
I thrown my Sonos from the window, installed my old Marantz ampli, and connected the Yamaha.
App is much more intelligent and flexible than the Sonos one.

Good idea, mediocre implementation
Contrary to numerous information floating around on the net, the WXAD-10 does not support AirPlay 2, but only the first version of AirPlay. Thus, Multiroom via AirPlay 2 is not possible.
Incomprehensibly, there is also only an analog RCA connection, no S/PDIF. This is annoying for all those who have an amplifier with digital inputs.
Yamaha missed the big one here. With AirPlay 2 and S/PDIF, this could have been the perfect multi-room receiver to make existing hi-fi systems streamable.Pro

Super product. Better than Sonos.
Good price-performance ratio. Technically and sound good. Included cable is cheap, so better invest Fr 20 for an upgrade.

- Unfortunately it is not black but dark grey in a plastic look (the compromise to the price).
- Unfortunately, the volume cannot be adjusted via the app or AirPlay (perhaps a software update is coming?).

I have been using one for 2 years. Great sound quality. I bought a second unit that would not switch on. A search on the net revealed that it is a known and frequent fault of this type. I hope that the defective unit will be replaced.
