The black Technics EAH-AZ100Es really impressed me. The sound is remarkably clear and well-balanced, with a wide, natural soundstage. The seriousness of the tuning is immediately apparent: no artificial coloration, every frequency in its place. A real pleasure for long-term listening.
ANC is very effective, especially when combined with an equaliser such as ReEQalizer or Poweramp EQ. It doesn't 'hollow out' the sound as some competitors do, and the transparency mode is particularly successful. They're also comfortable to wear: the headphones fit well, even after several hours, and the fit is discreet and pleasant.
The Technics application is ultra-complete, ideal for those who like to customise their sound. And the big bonus is the multipoint connection for up to 3 devices, a real plus for everyday use.
Worth noting: no real faults to be found in use. The hinges on the case may look fragile at first glance, but they hold up very well. The application's interface may seem dense to beginners, but everything makes sense once you've got the hang of it.

The Technics EAH-AZ100 really impressed me. The sound is absolutely phenomenal and almost comes close to real lossless audio - extremely clear, detailed and simply really well tuned. The workmanship also feels high quality and the earbuds fit comfortably and securely, even over long periods of time. The noise cancelling is also excellent and reliably blocks out ambient noise. If you value first-class sound and high-quality workmanship, you definitely can't go wrong here. I'm absolutely thrilled, even though it normally takes a lot for me....

I switched from the Sony WF-1000XM4 to these Technics because there was a big gap to fill.
In terms of sound, the Technics are once again superior and they can almost hold a candle to the great ANC of the Sonys. But only almost.
The only thing that bothers me a little is the insertion of the buds. They are very small and not very easy to grip, so I find them a bit of a fiddle. But, even if I sometimes have the feeling that they don't fit perfectly, the sound (bass) and the ANC are surprisingly flawless and they also hold well and are comfortable. So no real minus point for that.
The LDAC codec was also a deciding factor for me, which is why I chose the Technics over the B&W Pi8. My Samsung S24 Ultra can do LDAC, but not higher aptX codecs, so: "It's a match!"

Test reports on the net don't promise too much. Top headphones that are worth their price. I can only recommend them.

I would recommend these headphones to anyone who values good sound quality! They are absolutely top class and that's why I will keep them. Why not give them 5 stars? I already own Airpods Pro 2 and wanted a sound upgrade for them, ideally I would be able to replace them completely. But I will probably keep both now :) The Airpods simply have strengths that I don't think anyone can beat at the moment: Convenience and Transparency Mode. They simply ALWAYS work in conjunction with Apple devices. In addition, the Transparency Mode is unbeatable for me and the fit of the headphones fits my ears better. Therefore: Airpods remain and will remain my commuter and sports headphones with solid sound. However, the Technics offer sound that outperforms the Airpods and I will enjoy them at home for targeted music listening sessions.

I'm a Sony Xperia fan for mobiles, the latest Japanese brand in Europe (I've got the 1 VI and will be getting the next one from Digitec/Galaxus) but most of the time I buy my entertainment and household electronics from Panasonic (Technics).
At the same time, I'd had the Sony WF-1000XM5 and the Technics EAH-AZ80, which were very close (now resold) in terms of excellence! This time I'm calming down and sticking with my Panasonic/Technics preference (also TV, Blu-ray, audio etc) and these EAH-AZ100s. I won't be buying the future WF-1000XM6s due in Q3.
