The design is robust and would actually look good.
Performance is also good for a mid-range device.
Unfortunately, the 4GB internal memory is absolutely insufficient.
Android and preinstalled apps from Google and Samsung already occupy 80% (of 1GB) of the memory ex works. After a few months (9), more and more accumulates due to updates.
Despite storing all possible data on the SD card (unfortunately no App2SD possible), you are always scraping the memory limit. (Installed apps approx. 200MB: Facebook, Skype, WhatsApp, Twitter, weather alarm, email).
Fortunately, the battery can be removed. This means that it can be recharged externally if, for some unknown reason, the device discharges itself so deeply overnight that it can no longer be charged or booted on its own!
This means that the phone can no longer be used properly. It's a shame, because it's actually very suitable for outdoor use. I'll have to buy another device for better or worse.

I've had the Xcover for about 10 months now. I think it's a decent phone for 255 francs.
However, the cover of the USB port is very unsatisfactory. It has now fallen off and the phone is no longer waterproof. Also, the phone only has 1GB of memory available for apps which is just not enough!
All in all, I would not buy the phone again.
I switched from the SII, admittedly it is slightly slower because of the somewhat weaker processor but still sufficiently fast.
It was clear to me that only about 1GB of the 4GB memory is available, but after rooting and moving apps to the SD card, this problem is solved.
I deduct 1 point for the lack of automatic display brightness control.
Otherwise, the device does exactly what I want, works great, is stable and a good companion on the mountain where you do not have to worry that it is broken after the first tour. Price performance is really good in my opinion!
The additional camera release button is great!
Slow.
Little memory, barely enough for the Android apps that install themselves.
USB cover falls off after a few months, so the device is no longer waterproof.
Unusable when apps are to be installed. Of the 4GB of memory, 3GB are occupied. The apps can only be stored on the internal memory and would have to be moved to the external memory afterwards. You don't want to have something like that.
All in all, a good mobile phone. It is also waterproof and dustproof as desired.
However, after one month, the bottom cover came off. That's why it's no longer waterproof and it's not covered by the warranty to repair it.
I wouldn't buy it again, because you can buy one directly that is not waterproof.
Use Samsung S7710 as a motorbike navigation system. GPS reception great, very robust, a bit heavy in manual mode. Screen ok and battery performance 4-5h in navigation mode.
However, you have to work with tricks during the initial installation because the internal memory is limited and the Android installed by Samsung does not support the installation of navigation programmes (such as CoPilot) on the SD card. After a bit of research on the internet, no problem, and now the navigation system runs perfectly and more stably than on any other device. GPS fix is a matter of seconds.

I've had the device for over a year and would definitely not buy it again. The reason I bought it was the outdoor features: good GPS, extra camera button. (The glass, however, is not resistant. It was more resistant on my DEFY).
I am still very satisfied with Android. The Samsung UI is also usable. Even though I often wished I could delete the annoying bloat apps.... ;-) All in all, the system is not fast, but it is usable.
An absolute no-go is the minimalist internal memory! Every time I add a new app, I have to think about which old one I'm going to delete because there's simply no memory left. Every week I have to meticulously relieve the memory of every possible kb so that I don't constantly get notices that the memory is not enough. Apps cannot be moved to the SD card when the device is delivered.
No matter how good the rest of the device's features (GPS, extra camera button) may be, they can't come close to compensating for the shortcoming of the low memory.

The hardware is very good and so is the operating system but the big disadvantage is the very limited space of about 1GB for apps. Rooting the phone voids the warranty, Samsung confirmed to me, something I don't want to recommend to my friend who bought this phone because of the hardware. It's also annoying that you can't remove the preinstalled apps you don't need. However, this phone is very practical for the purpose.
I have had the device for a week now and I have to say
It was a big mistake to buy such a device.
It is waterproof and dustproof but with exactly 1.08 Gb
the internal memory is far too small. After four to six apps
the memory is full to the brim. If you want to store the apps on the sd card
you would need root rights. So the warranty would be voided.
I do not recommend the phone unless you can cope with a
1gb small memory.

The ideal choice for all those who are looking for a very robust and functional phone for workshop and outdoor use and do not need a status symbol.

Clearly not a high-end device. But this was already clear to me when I bought it. Well suited for many phone users (not very good for multimedia applications) Robust.

I bought the device in May 2014, as a painter I only need it for work.
is still waterproof although the cover for charging is no longer present.
was better solved with xcover predecessor model.
Speed is good for the price,
memory with 1gb too small, therefore only suitable for 2-3 aps that do not need much memory.
external memory card up to 64gb no problem
battery only lasts about 1 day when used a lot, too bad
positive are, waterproof (comes a lot in contact with water), dustproof and also survived falling down up to 3 to 4 metres without damage so far.
Negatives are the short battery life, non-slidable aps, brightness could be better
and the 1gb memory.
I will replace it with the samsung s4 active, as it is waterproof and dustproof, with 12 gb of memory, which is also expandable.
have it in private use and so far very satisfied, but beware, also here not too long battery life, but you can move most of the aps to the external memory.
Quite good as a children's mobile phone, memory already upgraded

I have been using the Xcover II for four weeks now and I am satisfied with it. I switched from the Samsung Galaxy SII. Compared to the SII, the Xcoer II is a bit slower. The smaller memory is also noticeable. Although you can move photos to the memory card with a memory card, the small memory doesn't allow for too many apps. A positive aspect is the device's operation in the rain. Despite raindrops on the display, I can operate the device. That didn't work so well with the SII.
I have bought the successor model runs fast
Update very good, operation very good.
Approx. same as samsung tablet to operation,
The only drawback is only 1 gb internal memory, it should be 4.
Let's see what digitec thinks.
According to data 3 gb missing, same technical data samsung.
Need for work, not bad with 32 gb upgrade can compensate for the shortcoming.
More info later.

Very good phone fast efficient for the moment very contant in addition androïd 4.1.2 dessu
I switched from the iPhone 4 to the Xcover 2 and would do it again in a heartbeat. The Xcover 2 can do everything I need it to do, it's rugged and waterproof, and it's affordable. The case isn't a design masterpiece, but it's grippy and feature-oriented. The extra camera button and water resistance are great features.
One point is deducted for the lack of automatic display brightness control and the maximum display brightness, which is only just suitable for outdoor use. The battery capacity could also be a little larger, but all in all a very good product that is worth the money.
This phone is a rocket, a super phone very fast and easy to use battery could be better after 2 days he is at the end
