I am very satisfied! This device is best for vintage purposes, i.e. when it comes to saving memories from the "good old" days, without claiming perfect quality. (I am amazed at how well the slides have held up for the long time of up to 50 years).
I was able to scan about 500 photos in a short time. Many more to come. Compared to other machines, you can process a small batch of slides very quickly (see photo). Very satisfactory quality for this price. On the other hand, had a bit of trouble pushing through certain slide frames, especially the cardboard frames from Kodak before the 1980s, until they also switched to plastic.
The square shape of the ancient Instamatic slides (of my parents...) is not scanned completely, i.e. cut off a bit at the top and bottom as well as having black bars on the right and left (second photo). In my case, that's not so bad; when I took the photo, my mother wasn't really looking through the viewfinder anyway.

Having borrowed the previous model from a friend that was no longer available and it broke, I made four attempts with the DF-S-310 SE, three at Galaxus, one at another retailer.
None of these units worked, all went back. On two of the devices, the adjustment options did not work (brightness, red/green/blue). The overall scan quality was worse than the previous model (I scanned the same slides for comparison).
One device worked halfway satisfactorily, but after about 20 scans the scan unit was defective and everything was just yellow.
The last unit now already "factory new" has a noticeable cloudiness of the lens, covering about 20% of the image in the left area.
Unbelievable how such quality can be sold under a once good brand name (licensed to - Chinese?).
Nice detail: the insertion slot for the diamond magazine and the diamond magazine itself have been minimally changed compared to the previous device, so that the magazine from the previous device can no longer be used (without printing)!

Had found about 30 black and white negative films at my parents estate. With the Rollei DF-S 310 SE I was able to digitize them easily and quickly. The resolution was sufficient, as the mostly quality of the negatives (sharpness, brightness, contrast) was the limiting factor. The only thing I missed: choice color or b/w scan for negatives. But this can be easily solved in the post process. Would buy this again anytime.

I need the device to digitise old slides.
I am surprised at how good the quality of the pictures is, which I would not have expected from such a cheap device.
The handling is easy and it is really fast to scan slides - most of the time is lost in pre-sorting the slides.
The only thing I could criticise is that the screen is very small due to the compact design.
But I can definitely recommend the slide scanner.
