I am delighted with this slide scanner. Easy to use and good results
Product returned for refund after 20 days of testing.
The estimated real resolution scan of a very flat, fine grained and well focused sample slide is less than 2000 dpi. Scanned images have also quite a low contrast. If the sensor has really the announced resolution of 7200 dpi (let's hope that it has...note that you can NEVER get a higher resolution and more details by any SW interpolation....), than the result is really very poor... Maybe the optics is of low quality and also without or with a low quality antireflex coating. Another reason could be that there is no autofocus and the depth of the focus of the used objective is insufficient.
The original SW is not very practical and scans at 3600 and 7200 dpi are slow / very slow. With 3rd party SW (VueScan) the scanning speed and comfort is reasonable.
Do not expect any high quality scans... If you need it just for low resolution scans for catalogues or web publishing, it is OK.
Note: My Nikon Coolscan LS-2000 ( 2700 dpi ONLY (!), 12-bit), manufactured in 1998 (24 years old !!!) is capable to resolve almost the grain of the film (same sample slide) and is giving much sharper scans with more details and also with a better contrast (same SW, (VueScan), same settings).... ....I wanted to purchase a new scanner in order to replace this old Nikon scanner with more recent, more performant and with (announced) higher resolution OpticFilm 135i in order to get better results and also a better SW and HW compatibility with new PCs and recent Windows. Unfortunately this was a complete failure.

The software is atrocious and buggy, unfortunately nowhere near comparable to the Silverfast software on other Plustek scanners.
My slide holder has given up the ghost after a short time, this is unfortunately nowhere in Switzerland to buy, in the German manufacturer store this is available, but there is no delivery to Switzerland.
I will definitely not buy another device from this manufacturer.

Good device, but included software QuickScan offers only few setting options. But this software is optimized for the film holder feeder and can scan all images in one pass.
I also bought VueScan, which allows much better scans thanks to multiple exposures and other settings. But VueScan scans the images one by one and therefore needs more time (holder in and out several times), but it still scans all images with one command.
In my opinion, the scan quality is good enough for private applications, but professional level is not reached.

The Mac software makes complete nonsense. Colors get worse with each scan. IR dust removal smudges parts of the image.
Have also tried PC version. Better with colors but same problem with IR.
Also stupid that automatic cropping cannot be turned off for slides. Night photos are cropped to highlights.
