The perfect gaming router
Just what I was looking for. I was permanently connected to servers with my free router from the internet provider in Black Ops 4, where I had a miserable ping. With the XR500's geo-filter, everything is now different. All game connections are now high-performance and I only lose to opponents who actually play better than me. The installation of the router is simple and the user interface is clear and logical. The purchase was worth it.

No broadband modem
I realised very late that the XR500 has no broadband modem at all. So in the case of the ISP Wingo (where the modem you "have" to use is a disaster), I can't just plug the WAN port into the DSL connection and be done with it - I'm doomed to use the Wingo modem where I don't even have the power to turn off the wifi, what a joke. For the price, not okay.

I am absolutely satisfied and it meets all my expectations. I no longer have any problems when gaming via wifi when everyone else with a pc, mobile phone, tv or tablet is connected to wifi.

Promises great features, falls short in reliability and usability.
The very unstable DumaOS, which promises great features falls short in terms of reliability, the device requires very frequent restarts for various reasons (bugs). As this is a router and today it's expected that one can set it up once and forget about it, it falls short in delivering the most basic functions.
So far I spent a great amount of time debugging and resetting this device. I talked on the phone combined for several hours with Netgear support and Init7 support. Netgear finally gave up and asked me to exchange the device they claim it's defective hardware. I am now on hold with Digitec's business support and waiting on the line for over 30 minutes. Adding up the time I spent with trying to fix this device, I would argue that I paid 5 times more than the asking price, also adding up the time was not able to get work done because it did not work I incurred a huge loss.
For the above-mentioned reasons, I cannot recommend this device.Pro

An absolute buzz
It's fantastic!!!!! An absolute beast in the router scene. I recommend it to everyone. A worthwhile investment. But for those who want to connect their Xr500 to the Frizbox, you need to enable "Exposed Host" on the Fritzbox for the xr500 so that everything works flawlessly.

Best modem for surfing and gaming
The best investment in my Wi-Fi network. I am very satisfied with the performance of the modem. With the old modem I had constant problems with the WLAN. I had to constantly switch off the WLAN on my iPhone and then switch it on again so that the network would work again for 10 minutes. WLAN was completely overwhelmed. Since I connected the Netgear modem, everything works perfectly. Even when more than 10 devices are using WLAN at the same time.
The router software that comes with it is very user-friendly and perfect for network beginners like me.
The security of the modem also seems very good to me so far. When a device was attacked from the outside, the modem immediately kicked the device out of the network. Wonderful. I like that. In the log, I could immediately see which device was attacked.

Installation is a bit slow but the signal is great. Get a download of 500Mbps wirelessly
Good part, cumbersome software
All in all, I am satisfied. Speed has improved noticeably compared to the UPC part that previously "distributed" my WLAN. It's also more stable than the UPC crap ;-)
