HTC Vive Cosmos Elite
After now over 10h unsuccessful installation attempts I have given up.
For some reason, my SteamVR only recognizes one of the two controllers at a time. It does show me both controllers as green and they both work flawlessly, as long as only one of them is turned on.
However, when both controllers are connected, they seem to steal each other's connection. (The controller in a better position is tracked and the other is ignored. The connection jumps smoothly)
Here is a list of things I have tried (multiple times)
1. re-pair controller
2. pair controller (USB connected)
3. connect both controllers via USB (both controllers are recognized as one controller)
4. controller reset
5. headset reset
6. update all possible firmware
7. change SteamVR version (beta activated)
8. reinstall Vive setup
9. reinstall SteamVR
10. change USB ports
11. reset and reinstall USB ports
12. extensions disabled / enabled
13. reinstall Steam
14. and yes of course I also rebooted the computer (several times)
15 - X. A lot of fun SteamVR vodoo because the Steam community suggested it (Running out of the Lighthouse with the controller on and not pairing the second controller until the first one is no longer visible, etc).
Conclusion:
None of this helped which now leads to me writing this review at 3am in frustration.
I realize that I'm probably more of an isolated case here, but according to the Steam forums I'm by no means alone with the problem.
Therefore, the headset goes back to its sender on Monday. I hope here on the goodwill of Digitec.
If anyone still has suggestions for solutions, I am gladly open to it.
Since you can't get an official Valve Index in Switzerland, I decided on this VR set (599.- promotion). Due to my monocular vision I have of course a small restriction but it is still fun. So 1-2h sessions are OK, then it gets blurry. The glasses wear quite well and can be folded up. With various tools, you can also operate the desktop in VR.
The selection of VR games is massive and many are free.
The installation requires mounting or a tripod for the stations (in my case, one base mounted and one on a tripod). The setup afterwards is very easy and explained step by step. The stations buzz a little during operation but switch to silent standby after use.
Playing with the controllers is sometimes a bit strange and I would rather have the index controllers. However, the tracking works excellently.
The graphics and performance are very good and the glasses run at a pleasant 90Hz. The drive is an 8700K and a 3060 Ti.
For advanced or professionals, however, I would def. advise the Index but by the action of 599.- here I could not resist and for many small VR sessions absolutely recommendable.

+ Quality and functions good.
- There is no warning about the limited IDP setting. I have a pupil distance of 56mm but the device only allows settings of 60mm and larger. I advise all people with IDP below 60mm not to buy.

I always wanted a pair of VR glasses. One Friday afternoon I finally decided to get them. The big package was delivered to me the very next day. I was very satisfied. When I finally unpacked everything, I was a bit unsure how to install everything. Thanks to the online tutorial, it was not a big problem. The software for the VR glasses was also downloaded immediately. The only thing that is a bit impractical are the sensors, which you should drill with the supplied brackets on the wall. The power cables, then just hang down to the socket. The display port cable is long enough to move around a bit. After long gaming sessions, you usually get a bit sweaty and a bit of a weird feeling in your eyes after taking the glasses off. Since then, I've really enjoyed playing IronWolf VR.
