Gigaset S850 Hx
I bought the S850 HX because it implements the CAT-iq 2 standard and can therefore communicate with the Swisscom Internet Box without an additional base station. Device could be connected to the IB without any problems, also the access to the central phone book works without any problems. Downloaded a few MP3 files to the phone. The 3 MB storage space for music and picture files is not exactly ample, but I still managed to load 8-10 MP3 files of about 30s length onto the phone. Unfortunately, these cannot be assigned to individual users in the IB's central address book, for this you have to enter the users in the local address book.
Sound quality is good, a headset with cable or Bluetooth can be used. Hands-free talking also works well.
I bought the S850HX because it was mentioned positively in Swisscom forums regarding compatibility with the Swisscom IBP.
The purchase fully meets expectations. Easy to log on, all functions immediately available. Firmware update via Gigaset QuickSync (desktop app) also works. Access to central address book (in router) available.
In summary: unpack - insert batteries - log on to IBP - make calls! Possible without manual.
For landline telephony, I have always done well with Siemens Gigaset via various technologies.
I replaced my C610 handset with S850, and it works great.
Pro
Contra
For making calls, it's what you'd expect, but when the loudspeaker membrane of two identical phones breaks shortly after the warranty expires, it's simply poor quality. This suggests that inferior parts are deliberately installed so that you have to buy a new device every few years. And this is not exactly a very cheap phone. With today's scarcity of resources, we should put more emphasis on quality.
Contra
I deduct two stars because I own several Gigaset telephones and the charging of the batteries no longer works on some of them after a few years. I had replaced the batteries. It's the device.
