Ink tank, Colour
Epson ET-7700 EcoTank Photo
Ink tank, Colour
Very good quality at first.
But then, unfortunately, the colours mixed, also clearly visible in the nozzle test + sometimes large drops of ink on the printout.
Cleaned the device several times, also carried out power cleaning, ... Then sent for repair. Unfortunately I only got it back thoroughly cleaned. I had complained about this (that I was assuming a defect that could hardly be remedied by cleaning alone), but could not insist on this, as the machine then temporarily printed correctly.
Now, unfortunately, the same error again (even power cleaning does not remedy this), but the guarantee is no longer valid.
I will replace the device with this, but I am still undecided whether I only had an assembly device (+ bad repair) and I will buy another EcoTank device or whether I will now buy a printer from another brand.

One maintenance box was already "defective" when I received it. Epson's telephone support promised to send me a new one. Now I have been waiting for the maintenance box for over a month. In the meantime, the printer no longer works.

The decisive factors for my purchase were the size of the device, the print quality of photos and a powerful scanner as well as duplex printing.
At first I was enthusiastic for a while, but then my joy about the purchase quickly dimmed: the print was no longer clean after about 12 months. Before EVER printing, I now had to clean the print head first, otherwise the result was unusable.
I still had ink for a good year, but in my opinion the device no longer did what it was supposed to do: simply print documents cleanly.
My conclusion: hands off!!! I'm switching back to a colour laser soon. Unfortunately, these things are still big and heavy ...

After a lot of back and forth, we decided on this supposedly environmentally friendly device. My conclusion after more than 2 years is devastating. The first few months everything was as expected. After that, the smears increased, followed by countless print head cleanings. What you might save on ink, you spend on the maintenance box. Absolutely immature product, smears constantly after a short time, requires replacement of the maintenance box after 100 printouts and various print head cleanings. If you don't have it, it doesn't print at all. Never again EPSON.

The idea sounds nice and ecological, the implementation is a joke.
Actually, it's a printer for Fr.99.95, with ink for the rest of the purchase amount.
It can't do anything really well and has now started to smear. And I can't get rid of it!
The only advantage is the ink supply, but that's made up for by the puny paper tray.

This was the most expensive failure of all printers that have ever found their way to my home. I deliberately buy a slightly more expensive printer and the print result is hardly ever usable.
The first three or four months everything went well and the print results were excellent. Whether document printing or picture printing.
But then the first black smears appeared, especially at the top and bottom of a printout. Then you just open the printer, dab the overflowing (?) black ink from the inside and the thing runs again for a few print jobs. Then the game starts all over again.
As if that wasn't annoying enough, color printouts are now also unusable. Color stripes without end - whether color document printout or image print. Unusable.
All types of cleaning have been done several times without even a single improvement.
The attached examples include the original image, the corresponding Epson printout on glossy paper, and a normal color A4 printout.
Sure, the printer had some goode features that should have made it to the plus side, but what good are they if the printer delivers such miserable print results?
Stupidly, I used this Epson printer too late, because I wanted to use up the ink of my old printer. And now, after the first few months of trouble-free operation, the really big problems are starting and the warranty has expired in the meantime. But yes, that was my big mistake, I admit.

I was very pleasantly surprised that two whole color sets were included.
The photos are very appealing, but do not correspond to high-end quality, but for that you move in a much cheaper price range.
I can't say anything about the scanner, as I use a different device for that.

Versatile printer, beautiful shape, ink system instead of cartridges much cheaper - but rather expensive to buy. But I am very satisfied so far. Paper tray rather small, but sufficient for private use or home office.

What a joy to be able to fill the ink tanks yourself and to be able to buy refills at a price that is finally affordable with the eco-tank! The ease of use is also a great asset because it took me only a few minutes to install this printer on all the computers in the house without any hitch!
I'm very pleased with this printer and would highly recommend it if you are looking to reduce your printing costs.

The photos on photo paper are impeccable in my opinion - no more orders from PhtoPrint or similar. ... in retrospect I would buy the A3 version, even if I had to do a handstand to make room. The "simple" copies on normal paper are a pleasure, the normal print - b/w or colour - is impeccable and sufficiently fast.

All expectations fulfilled.
Fast and correct delivery by post; ordering and payment completely unproblematic.
I bought this printer because I was getting tired of buying new print cartridges every few months which are almost as expensive as the initial cost of the printer. Whether the low printing costs and low consumption promised by Epson will prove to be true will only be seen in the future, but I am confident ;-)
I would like to emphasise the quality of the photo print. You can't tell the difference between a photo of 15x10cm (on appropriate paper) and a professional print. On the negative side, I would like to point out the somewhat fiddly paper output and the fact that you first have to manually fold out the display and paper tray when printing is not exactly up to date and could certainly be solved differently.

I am very happy Very easy to use.
Ink cost: Exemplary low. Colour fastness: good.
Opening the two paper drawers and loading papers: very cumbersome. Output tray: should open automatically. Rear single paper feed: mostly works poorly or not at all. 40Fr. cashback: enormously complicated and time-consuming. Took me 3 hours.
The document and photo print results are very good. Printer costs (ink) are excellent. I can control everything with the app (IOS).
I was always sceptical about general purpose devices, in the past they were often complicated or unstable to operate. But I read up on YouTube and saw and heard the verdicts about these EcoTank devices. After that it was clear that a lot of things had been implemented well to very well. Epson has learned from the past and put it into practice.
This device is a compromise to the larger models where more is automatic and the trays are faster and more professional. I don't print much but relatively often up to A4 maximum. If you have this usage profile, this machine is a good choice. If you often have large print or scan jobs, it's better to go for the larger ET-16500.
+ Photos very good (if good photo paper)
+ Very economical
+ Refill ink yourself
+ Separate black letters and black photos
+ Scan and print via network
+ Mobile devices can print wirelessly
+ Small, takes up relatively little space
+ Good user-friendly software
- A4 paper tray relatively small
- Output tray manual
Super device with very low printing costs...have the ET7700 now since December 2018 in regular office use with not a few photo prints and the ink tanks are still 3/4 full with the first filling. However, the remaining ink tank is due to be replaced soon, but this is also included in the scope of delivery, as is a whole set of ink.
About 1 month ago, the first printouts began to smear. Cleaning the print head with household paper solved this problem completely.

Despite the manual output tray and small paper tray, I am very satisfied with the printer. The print quality is very good and the printing costs are very reasonable thanks to the Eco Tank system. I would buy this printer again.

The concept of the EcoTank is great. Slightly more expensive printer but fair ink prices. The refill works great.
Unfortunately, the SW is just poorly done. Scanning directly to the computer only works in 9 out of 10 cases and restarting a computer that normally runs 24/7 just because of bad printer software is ridiculous. Printer drivers don't allow all options, so you have to stay on generic to be able to set the simplest things (absurd). The handling with the front flap that must be open to be able to print is just badly solved.
After the printer has printed every day again streaky and you had to fix that with 1-2 cleanings, this could be fixed with suction of the inner ink residue field. After some time, however, the printer started to make massive black spots on pictures, making them completely useless. In retrospect, the printer is obviously just poorly built. It is not worth the money. For a printer that you would sort of dispose of with empty ink tanks it would be ok. For an EcoTank that you want to keep for a long time but not.
A great pity. I would not recommend this annoyance to anyone.
