AVM FRITZ!DECT Repeater 100
AVM FRITZ!DECT Repeater 100
I have tested various locations. First, the DECT repeater connects perfectly and telephoning is also fine. However, the repeater says goodbye on its own and unfortunately does not register again, even if you plug it in and unplug it. You then have to laboriously repeat the registration process and then it works for a certain time, but permanent operation is not possible and therefore simply a MAGIC product!
Unfortunately, I am disappointed with this purchase. The reason lies in the deteriorated range of functions of the Fritz! solution:
1. eco-DECT mode is not supported by this repeater. Therefore, all Fritz!Fon in my DECT network are now transmitting day + night, although they would actually support the eco-DECT mode. (The Fritz box switches off the eco-DECT mode as soon as a device in the network does not support this mode).
2. the DECT PIN can no longer be selected by the user, which prevents external DECT devices from logging into the own DECT network. If you want to register this DECT repeater with the FritzBox, the PIN must be reset to the factory setting "0000". This leaves your own DECT network wide open to fraudsters who log into the network and misuse it (e.g. call expensive value-added services).

I have used these units at 3 different locations (1-2 units per Stao) and was thus able to considerably expand the overall coverage. Some of the devices have been in operation for months without interference or maintenance. With the current firmware of the Fritz! phones, they also show the corresponding source in the form of a number when the field strength is displayed, so you can always see which 'cell' you are logged into. In contrast to other DECT repeaters, these allow both the firmware update of the end devices and encrypted HD telephony via the repeater (together with AVM end devices).
I have not been able to pair the repeater with a Salt Fibre Box X6.
The repeater is made for Germany. It cannot be plugged directly into a Swiss socket. To realise this, an adapter is included, which is okay, but the distance to the wall increases significantly. The advertising element that you don't lose a socket because there is another socket available on the repeater also only applies to a limited extent. It is a German chocolate socket. There is no adapter for Switzerland included which costs another 5-10 Fr.
