    Good equipment, problems under Linux

In the delivery state with 7950x3d and G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo CL30 (and also with updated BIOS and EXPO settings applied by the RAM), the board took about a minute to POST with every boot (LED shows "15"). Remedy:
    > In your
    BIOS go to:
    > Ai Tweaker - DRAM Timing Control - change the following from Auto to Enabled
    > Power Down = Enabled
    > Memory Context Restore = Enable
    (from https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5...)

Under Linux, the network (via cable) runs for approx. one hour, after which the network card is virtually lost. The Linux boot arguments provided a remedy: "pcie_port_pm=off pcie_aspm.policy=performance" (

    Pro

    • Plenty of PCI-E connectivity
    • Boot status LED

    Contra

    • BIOS setting necessary so that RAM is not retrained every time (> 1 min until POST)
    • Adjustments to power saving options for LAN stability necessary under Linux

    Very nice mainboard

The mainboard makes a very high-quality impression, which is to be expected for this price. It has very good internal and external connectivity. It also has many features like Q-Code, Clear CMOS, Bios Flashback, 2 + 8 PIN CPU power supply, many fan connectors. It should have a bit more RGB lighting. Unfortunately, only the Asus logo is illuminated.

    Pro

    • Beautiful design
    • Good VRMs & cooling
    • Thanks to PBO enhancement with the 80°C profile, the processor runs nice and cool.
    • Very good IO connectivity + Wifi 6E & Bluetooth

    Contra

    • Could have a little more RGB
    • A little expensive

    Great mainboard

The Asus motherboard is expensive, but definitely worth it for its extensive features, design and future-proof platform. I can only recommend the b650e if you have the money;)

    Pro

    • 16+2 Power Stages
    • Clear Cmos button
    • EZ Debug Led
    • PCIe 5.0 GPU and M.2 SSD
    • Asus quality
    • VRM cooler massive

More expensive but very good mainboard

The mainboard is mostly made of high-quality materials; apart from a few small plastic parts, there is hardly anything negative about the material and the workmanship. The advantages and disadvantages have already been listed, which is why I can only draw attention to the high price. This is clearly too high, but is generally a problem for AM5s. With cashback from Asus and possibly from third parties, I would recommend buying it.

    Pro

    • Many M.2 slots
    • Good M.2 cooler
    • GPU Quick Release
    • Wifi 6E
    • Strong VRM cooler
    • ECC-Ram support
    • Design
    • Extremely many connections

    Contra

    • Price
    • Good bios, there are better ones
    • No internal buttons
    • Network chip causes problems (27.06.23)

    Very good

Feels like a good fully equipped board. Rear I/O has quite a lot of USB ports and BIOS related buttons. Inside the main gpu slot and m.2 slot are PCI-E 5.0 ready and there is a debug code display. Despite the seemingly high price this seem like the cheapest board which features all these and the GPU release button is a nice extra.

    Pro

    • Lots of USB ports
    • Rear I/O has clear cmos and bios flash
    • GPU release mechanism
    • Debug code display
