What is Windows? - no, seriously... This product is intended as a storage expansion for Macintosh products (basically the generation of devices before Apple brought USB-C devices, ca 2015 - see manufacturer for exact specifications). The idea is to put the existing smaller internal flash disk in the MacBook into the enclosure and install the larger Transcend in the MacBook, then migrate the system and continue to use the original disk in the external enclosure for data transport, backup, archiving, etc. Your idea seems to be to use this drive as an external data transport, which you want to use with Windows: yes, that's possible, but it's not intended as there are other cheaper solutions for this (SSD in external enclosure etc) - and furthermore I doubt that your Win socket has a Thunderbolt 1 or Thunderbolt 2 connection. Alternatively, you can use the disc on USB-C devices with a USB-C_to_Thunderbolt_1_2 adapter from Apple. If you are even planning to install the flash disk in the windbox, then it will not work at all, as the pin assignment does not correspond to the usual standard of SSD storage (SATA, NVME, M.2 etc). The Transcend are reliable memory expansions, which I have used many times. Alternatively, there are such expansions from OWC, which I prefer to avoid. Hope this helps.

Partially. The battery probably goes down faster because the SSD consumes more power. Due to my age, I also replaced the battery, which discharged faster anyway. So I actually did well.

The warranty information on the homepage is correct, but you can change/extend the warranty period when ordering.

That is possible in any case. But I don't know if there is a Windows app for updating the SSD's firmware. Otherwise you have to connect it to a Mac once a year for firmware updates. If you have a Mac but want Windows externally, then no problem ;) What kind of Thunderbolt interface do you have? 1,2 or 3 ?

That is the whole purpose of this product. The enclosure and the SSD inside it has this non-standard connector system that Apple uses that is functionally the same but the pins are reversed as opposed to the usual M2 connectors. This means that this SSD goes into the Mac and the original one in the Mac goes into the enclosure and can still be used. However, the controller in the enclosure is extremely slow and while the SSD connected internally has a throughput of more than 1.5 GByte/s, the throughput via this enclosure is around 240 MByte/s. So install it internally! So install it internally! But if you want to skip all this monkey business, special prices for fantasy connectors and mediocre performance, buy an adapter from normal M2 to this Apple nonsense and a Samsung 970 EVO. Much better price, much better performance. Just google the adapter. For example, "Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter" costs €16 on Amazon.
