Helpful answer

I have been operating this repeater for several months with a cable connection to the router (FritzBox) - however not in the operating mode "repeater" but as a pure "AccessPoint" (I have deactivated the WLAN on the router/FritzBox). In this set-up, the repeater works perfectly - but there are no handovers...

WLAN and gaming is always a thing. Sometimes you're lucky, but often the neighbours' networks interfere. But what works with a Fritzbox system and makes a lot of sense: activate the Mesh WLAN function. So if the router is a Fritzbox and has the latest firmware, you can switch on mesh networking. A mesh WLAN network consisting of several mesh WLAN devices can expand the network with the advantage that all mesh devices are connected to each other and you then get greater coverage without halving the speed as is achieved when the devices are used as repeaters. The Fritz 1750E and 2400 are both mesh capable, so it doesn't really matter which one you buy. The 1750E is not available, I would take the 2400, switch on the mesh and use it that way. If it still doesn't bring the desired speed, then add a second 2400 and integrate it into the mesh WLAN. It can also help if the repeater on the first floor can be used roughly under the WLAN mesh repeater on the second floor.

No, 1750E is a repeater, not a modem, so it doesn't support (directly) the cable. Note here in Digitec and on other sites there are a lot of bundles (modem + repeater), so maybe you (or some vendor) confused and mixed the data

No one will be able to give you a general answer. It depends entirely on the quality of the concrete wall, e.g. whether there are steel beams inside. These can extremely weaken the WLAN signals. Based purely on experience, I would have said to reckon with a maximum of 15 -25m. In the open (e.g. garden etc.) the reception is usually better. Under your circumstances, the range will depend on the concrete wall.

Hello.. No, you do not have to. However, there is a possibility. You can also use the RJ45 port to connect a non-WLAN device to your network. Here are the installation instructions: https://ch.avm.de/service/fritzwlan/fritzwlan-repeater-1750e/wissensdatenbank/publication/show/1486_FRITZ-Repeater-im-FRITZ-Box-Heimnetz-einrichten/ Greetings

Yes, the repeater also works with an Internet Box 2 from Swisscom. However, the mesh functions cannot be used (only with a FRITZ!Box with OS >7.xx). To increase the WLAN of an Internet Box 2, I would therefore use the Swisscom repeater called WLAN-Box. This can then also be managed via the Swisscom login. The price of the Swisscom version is similar, but the Swisscom "WLAN-Box" offers more network connections (RJ45). I myself use FRITZ!Box with FRITZ!Repeater = stay with the same manufacturer.

Yes, the repeaters work with any wifi network. The combination with a FritzBox router offers some nice, but not very important functions. E.g. automatic update of the repeater in the router GUI. But I also use another router with the FritzBox repeater. This works perfectly.

Difficult to answer because it depends very much on the flat in question, i.e. thickness of the floor, walls, their layout, underfloor heating and other obstacles. I don't need it any more. You are welcome to test it. Digitec can give you my contact for free :)

Sunrise has the Fritzbox routers 7390 and 7490 on loan. The Fritzbox 7490 supports FritzOS 7 and thus Mesh. The Fritzbox 7390 no longer works with FritzOS 7 and therefore no Mesh. In principle, WLAN repeaters can be linked to any WLAN, and the 1750E can also be integrated into the network with an Ethernet cable. The configuration is less convenient and can degenerate into a tedious process. Therefore, my recommendation: At Sunrise, insist on the delivery of a Fritzbox 7490 and, in an emergency, exchange it again. This will surely solve your problem.

Through two thin brick walls, a kitchen and another solid wall, I have to switch to 2.4 Ghz for enough reception for browsing. There is not much bandwidth left. A cable or a separate connection to the neighbouring house is probably more sensible. But at 74.- you can try it out, basically I'm very satisfied with the thing. By the way, under optimal conditions, maybe 300 to 400 megabits are left over from my gigabit via Wlan. That's without a wall.

I have a 200 Mbit / 20 Mbit subscription with UPC, router also on the upper floor, Fritz repeater on the lower floor. Signal strength 90 Mbit / 20 Mbit. Initially, the router and the repeater did not get along well, but for a few months now the whole thing has been purring along smoothly. I think it will work for you too.
