This 5.5x zoom lens features the new Pentax HD coating for brilliant images even under difficult lighting conditions. With a zoom range of 85 - 460 mm (converted to KB), this lens is suitable for shooting ranges from portraits and sports to photo safaris. Two ED lens elements eliminate chromatic aberrations and ensure sharp and brilliant images with natural colours. The HD 55-300mm f/4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE is designed as a Retrectable Lens. This allows a small size of just 89mm when retracted. Due to the low weight of just 442 grams you can easily take the lens with you wherever you go. The HD 55-300mm f/4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE is equipped with a new rear focus mechanism driven by a pulse motor (PLM). This enables quieter and, above all, faster autofocus - up to 8.3 times faster depending on the focal length. Manual focusing is also more direct and accurate thanks to this design. In addition, the HD 55-300mm f/4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE is the first Pentax lens with electromagnetic aperture control. The newly developed HD multi-coating allows higher transmission and less reflections than conventional coatings. This improves the image quality in terms of sharpness and brilliance even under difficult lighting conditions. The weatherproof construction makes the new HD 55-300mm f/4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE with a weatherproof Pentax camera a combination that can withstand wind, rain and dust like no other system. The Super Protect Coating protects the front lens from dirt. It reduces dust adhesion and contamination such as fingerprints. With the Quick Shift Focus System, quick focus correction is no longer a problem. No more cumbersome switching at any keys or in menu items, with this lens you can easily make the necessary correction on the focus ring after focusing is complete.
