Product details
The Lumix G70 is equipped with a 4K video function, enabling smooth, high-resolution video recordings with breathtaking details. However, 4K technology is not only interesting for filmmakers, but also
offers a special advantage for photographers: the suitable still image in 8 megapixel resolution can be extracted from a 4K photo series with 30 images per second in order to capture the "magic moment" particularly easily with fast-moving subjects.
The 16-megapixel digital live MOS sensor not only improves sensitivity, but also gradation, resolution and color reproduction compared to its predecessor, the G6, for enhanced image quality. The Venus Engine with its quad-core processor significantly increases performance. Fast signal processing enables continuous shooting at up to 8 fps (AFS)/6 fps (AFC) at full resolution.
Photo and video functions
Lumix G cameras are ideal for high-resolution filming. The G70 follows this tradition with smooth 4K video recording at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels at 25p or 24p in addition to Full HD mode at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and 50p and convenient Full-Time AF. In addition to the 4K video functionality, the "4K Photo" option is also an exciting alternative for photographers. 4K Photo" makes it easy to shoot fast-moving or unpredictable scenes with a 4K series at 30 fps. The desired still image can then be extracted as an 8 megapixel photo from the video material.
Also on board are three new 4K modes for recording 4K material: 4K pre-burst, 4K series and 4K series (start/stop). The 4K pre-burst mode automatically takes 60 pictures - 30 pictures before and 30 pictures after shutter release - while the 4K series takes unlimited* pictures at 30 fps, similar to continuous shooting at full resolution. The 4K Continuous Mode (Start/Stop) starts recording when the shutter is released and stops when it is pressed again.
With 4K Photo, photographers never miss the right moment - and can capture the decisive moment of a moving subject in an 8MP image at any time.
High photo performance
The G70's 16-megapixel live digital MOS sensor provides high resolution with minimal noise. In combination with the quad-core processor, the Venus Engine provides fast signal processing at 8 fps (AFS). The G70 uses the processor's new diffraction correction to produce crisper images, especially when the aperture is closed. The improved multi-process Noise Reduction (Noise Reduction) ensures effective noise reduction while preserving the fine edges and detail drawings. A new random filter gives a more natural impression of the chromatic noise in the image.
OLED viewfinder and swivelling touch-screen LCD monitor
The G70 is equipped with a newly developed, high-precision and fast OLED display for the viewfinder. The resolution of the screen is increased to an enormous 2.4 megapixels, with a magnification of approx. 1.4x / 0.7x (35mm camera equivalent) and 100 percent field of view coverage. The new viewfinder design provides improved visibility and the image output between monitor and Live View Finder is done automatically by the integrated eye sensor.
WiFi function
The Lumix G70 is equipped with a WiFi module, offering full flexibility when taking pictures and storing and sharing photos. Easily connect to a smartphone or tablet to post photos and videos on social networks or email them to friends or family as soon as they've recorded.

Overall ratingVery good87/100
