The G91's body design has been further optimized for trouble-free operation. Its dust and splash protection makes the G91 the perfect travel camera. An integrated OLED viewfinder combined with a flip-out and tiltable 7.5 cm OLED touchscreen facilitates image composition even from unusual viewing angles.
For videography, the Lumix G91 offers 4K and Full HD video recording at various frame rates. Storage is also possible on external recording media. Video recording can also be done with unlimited duration. The video offering is supplemented by a 3.5 mm microphone port and now also a headphone jack.
The 4K photo modes, already proven in other Lumix models, make it easier to capture fleeting moments with image accuracy. The Lumix G91 adds features like sequence composition and auto-marking. Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity make it easy to share images on the go. The USB charging function makes it independent of the power grid. This makes the Lumix G91 an excellent and versatile option for demanding photography and videography.
The high-speed autofocus (AF) with a response time of only 0.07 s and high-speed continuous shooting at 9 fps (AF-S) or 6 fps (AF-C) are ideally suited for sharp images of fast-moving subjects. With Depth From Defocus (DFD) technology, the G91 tracks moving subjects with confidence. The AF sensitivity setting can be adjusted as needed to match the movement of the subject.
Face/Eye Detection AF automatically detects human faces for targeted focusing. Other focusing modes such as Pinpoint AF for pinpoint focus orientation and Low Light AF for low-light conditions complete the offering. A user-definable Custom Multi AF allows users to select specific differently positioned blocks from 49 focus detection areas. For manual focusing, Focus Peaking facilitates accurate focusing.

Ein bisschen Wind oder Regen steckt die Lumix G91 dank wettergeschütztem Gehäuse locker weg. Die Aufnahmen der Panasonic sind richtig gut, egal ob Fotos oder Videos. Erst bei sehr hoher ISO-Zahl sind Kameras mit APS-C-Sensor besser. Der Autofokus reagiert blitzschnell, nur bei sehr schnellen oder langen Serien schafft er es nicht immer, die Schärfe genau nachzuführen.
Nach unserem Bewertungsschema gewinnt die Lumix G9ll den Vergleichstest. Sie profitiert bei der Bildqualität von der höheren Sensorauflösung. Viele Fotografen dürften sich aber von den Funktionen bei Olympus bzw. OM System stärker angesprochen fühlen. Die neue OM-1 Mark II hat beispielsweise mit Live-ND und Live-GND Funktionen, die kein anderer Kamerahersteller bietet...
Preislich reiht sich die Lumix G91 zwar in der Micro-Four-Thirds-Mittelklasse von Panasonic ein, sie bietet dennoch viel Ausstattung und Leistung. Dafür sorgt nicht nur der 20-Megapixel-Bildsensor. Noch kompakt, aber schön griffig: Die Lumix G91 liegt gut in der Hand und lässt sich einfach bedienen. Etwas Wind oder Regen steckt das wettergeschützte Gehäuse locker weg. Top für Video: Die G91 filmt auch länger als 30 Minuten.
Die dritte Panasonic im Testfeld muss sich trotz des geringsten Alters ein gutes Stück hinter den beiden Schwestermodellen einreihen. Vor allem in Sachen Bildqualität hinkt sie trotz des mit der GX-9 identischen Sensors hinterher. Schade, denn ansonsten kann sich die jüngste Lumix des Tests bis aufeinige Kleinigkeiten durchaus sehen lassen...
