The base stations allow the user to immerse into the room-encompassing virtual reality by recording the spatial position of the headset and controllers. This also includes wireless synchronization.
With the Lighthouse base station, the position of the Vive headset and the controller in the room is recorded and synchronized wirelessly. The system works with millimetre precision and the black box is equipped with a surface of infrared LEDs and two lasers, one of which is responsible for the vertical and horizontal axis.
