The IBIS system is particularly advantageous when shooting freehand in poor lighting conditions, such as indoors and after dark, as well as when shooting with long telephoto focal lengths. The robust magnesium housing is additionally reinforced around the bayonet mount to guarantee the best possible stability when using larger and heavier lenses. It is protected against splash water and dust and can be used at low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
