The GF30mmF5.6 T/S is a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 30 mm, suitable for both landscape and architectural photography. The optical system consists of 16 elements in eleven groups, including three aspherical lenses, two ED lenses, and one Super ED lens.

This design allows for advanced optical correction of image errors and high resolution. A large-diameter aspherical front lens and three ED elements ensure excellent imaging performance. Distortion and lateral chromatic aberration are corrected without electronic aids, while spherical aberrations, coma, and image field curvature are minimized, providing high sharpness even in the corners of the image when the lens plane is shifted.

The Nano GI coating developed by Fujifilm enhances image quality by slightly altering the refractive index on the lens surface, suppressing unwanted reflections that can lead to flare spots or ghost images, particularly with wide-angle lenses.

The tilt-shift mechanism allows the focal plane (tilt) to be adjusted by ±8.5° and the lens plane (shift) to be moved by ±15 mm.

The advanced optical construction of the GF30mmF5.6 T/S results in an exceptionally compact design. Despite illuminating an image circle of approximately 85 mm in diameter, the lens is only 138.5 mm long and weighs just 1,340 grams. The use of an aspherical element as the front lens results in a manageable filter size of 105 mm in diameter, allowing for various filter attachments suitable for landscape and architectural photography.

The lens comes with a special tripod clamp that also aids in correcting slight shifts in the optical center when the lens plane is panned, helping to avoid parallax errors when capturing images that can later be seamlessly combined into a panorama or multishot shot.
