Product details
With this Supertele lens the world comes a little closer. The powerful 4-stage image stabilizer and compact, lightweight design allows you to take shots you never thought possible. Whether you're on a safari or airplane watching, the telephoto focal length allows you to capture distant subjects in full frame and detail. The 4-step image stabilizer enables super-sharp telephoto shots and smooth, free-hand video recording. Thanks to the RF bayonet, the F11 aperture and the DO (Diffractive Optics) optics, the lens weighs only approx. 1,260g and has a length of only 281.8 mm when transported. An STM motor provides smooth, quiet AF, and the lens control ring allows intuitive time/aperture/ISO adjustment. The slatless F11 aperture allows a comfortable bokeh. The super telephoto lens with powerful image stabiliser and AF is ideal for photo enthusiasts who like to travel with light equipment.

The 800mm lens left an even better impression than its sister model in the practical test. Buy recommendation!
The 800 works with a fixed aperture 11, which makes the very reasonable price of 1050 euros possible. Just under 1.3 kilograms is also a word. Resolution and contrast deliver slightly higher values than on the 600, but also remain well below the camera's capabilities. The edge drop is now higher, but still ok...

A lot of focal length for little money, that's very tempting in Canon's mirrorless RF system. The 11/800 mm IS STM is definitely worth a try.
