Dual-band WLAN router with four Gigabit Ethernet ports. Connects to any DSL, cable, or fiber modem or to an existing network. WLAN frequency bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, maximum WLAN speed: 1266 Mbit/s. Enhanced performance, flexibility, and stable connections through WLAN AC+N (dual-band). Connections: 1x WAN, 4x LAN, 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0. Secure internet usage with a pre-configured firewall. Future-proof with support for the new Internet Protocol IPv6.

The FRITZ!Box 4040 can be used as a fast WLAN AC router with any existing network or any DSL, cable, or fiber modem. It also supports UMTS, HSPA, and LTE sticks for internet access. With familiar ease, the FRITZ!Box 4040 connects all computers, smartphones, tablets, and other network-capable devices with each other and to the home network.

Fast WLAN AC + N also for beginners. For users who want to continue using an existing cable, VDSL/ADSL, or fiber modem or expand an existing network, the FRITZ!Box 4040 is the perfect solution for entering modern home networking. The FRITZ!Box 4040 supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connections simultaneously. This results in significantly greater range and higher transmission rates in WLAN. Multiple bandwidth-intensive applications can be used wirelessly and simultaneously – at speeds of up to 866 MBit/s (5 GHz) and 400 MBit/s (2.4 GHz).

Versatile multimedia features. As a media and data hub with NAS functionality, the FRITZ!Box manages connected USB storage and makes the content available within the home network. A media server provides the platform for connected applications such as IPTV, video on demand, or media streaming. Stored movies, music, and images are accessible throughout the network and can be distributed to playback devices via smartphone and the FRITZ!App Media.

FRITZ!OS with its own operating system.
