The Asus Zenfone 9 is a top smartphone. It convinces with a display that has enough brightness even in sunlight. The camera delivers solid photos, but has quality problems with zoom shots. On the other hand, the comfort is good: the Asus feels very good even in small hands, and its rough back is flattering...

Price tip once upon a time: While Asus offered 599 euros for the Zenfone 8 at market launch, and later 669 euros, the ninth edition is considerably more expensive. In the smallest memory configuration (8/128 GB), the Zenfone 9 costs 799 euros. Since the flash memory cannot be expanded, the extra 50 euros for the doubling to 256 GBytes is well spent...
