The ASUS WLAN USB adapter is one of the smallest 802.11ac WLAN USB adapters on the market. The frequency band is freely selectable. While the 2.4 GHz band is ideal for browsing, emailing, and social networking, the 5 GHz band allows for HD streaming and online multiplayer gaming. The USB adapter is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

The compact and small design of the USB-AC51 is particularly convenient, allowing you to easily take the device anywhere. It provides an instant 802.11ac WiFi upgrade for your notebook or computer. With 802.11ac connections, the device offers up to three times faster connections than what is possible with standard 802.11n models. The adapter works with all USB 2.0 compatible devices.

The 802.11ac WLAN standard provides you with up to twice the data throughput compared to older standards. This increase is achieved by widening the transmission bandwidth. Additionally, with 802.11ac, the number of parallel data streams (Multiple Input Multiple Output, or MIMO) can be increased to up to eight MIMO streams, while the 802.11n standard defines a maximum of four MIMO streams. Large data volumes, such as videos and backups, are not a problem with this WLAN speed.
