Product details
The ASUS RT-A86U is a dual-band wireless AC2900 Gigabit router for lag-free online gaming and smooth 4K UHD streaming. Using Broadcom NitroQuam technology, the model achieves a dual-band data transfer rate of up to 2917 Mbps. The maximum 2.4 GHz data transfer rate is 750 Mbps, while the 5 GHz band offers a data transfer rate of up to 2167 Mbps. The 1.8 GHz dual-core processor contributes to the router's performance.
NitroQAM technology
Whether in the heat of the online gaming battle or during the streaming of a live event in 4K/UHD, latencies and buffering of data are simply no options. The RT-AC86U's NitroQAM (1024-QAM) technology enables a combined WLAN speed of 2917 Mbps, ensuring that every user on the network can enjoy latency-free streaming and online gaming.
Integrated gaming accelerator
Ping times and variances are critical technical parameters that affect responsiveness in online gaming. These values essentially depend on the route that the game-relevant data packets have to travel to and from their destination. WTFast's Gamers Private Network (GPN) automatically optimizes routing performance by selecting the most efficient route for game-relevant data packets, resulting in permanently reduced ping time and minimal packet loss. With the RT-AC86U you get a free version, with which you can accelerate a selected device. Thus, optimal results can be achieved in supported multiplayer online games.
Security with AiProtection
The ASUS AiProctection IPS engine was developed in collaboration with TrendMicro and offers all-round protection for your network. Devices without virus programs such as IoT devices, SmartTVs, AV receivers and game consoles in particular benefit from this system.
signal coverage
One internal and three external antennas provide the best WLAN range and high signal stability. The AiRadar beamforming technology also focuses the WLAN signal on the devices, ensuring a faster, more interference-free and stronger WLAN.
Comprehensive connection options
The RT-AC86U has four Gigabit LAN ports for connecting network devices such as smart TVs, game consoles, set-top boxes, media players, NAS devices, and the like. Thanks to the integrated USB 3.1 Gen1 and USB 2.0 ports, USB devices such as external storage media, printers or 3G/4G Internet sticks can be connected to the ASUS router and easily shared over the network.
Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO)
By using multi-user MIMO, this router can stream data to multiple devices simultaneously. With MU-MIMO, your WLAN network can deliver faster throughput to any connected device. This means faster downloads and instant streaming for your devices. WLAN routers without MU-MIMO technology, on the other hand, can only stream data to one device in the house at a time.
