AirPods change the way you use headphones forever. When you take your AirPods out of their charging case, they turn on and connect to your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch. Audio plays automatically as soon as you put it in your ear and pauses when you take it out. Controlled by the specially designed Apple W1 chip, AirPods use optical sensors and an accelerometer to tell if they're in your ear. The W1 chip automatically routes audio and activates the microphone - whether you use both or just one. And if you're on the phone or talking to Siri, another accelerometer with wave-banding microphones filters out background noise and highlights your voice. Because the extremely energy-efficient W1 chip controls battery power so well, AirPods offer a unique playback time of up to 5 hours per charge. And thanks to the charging case, which offers several additional charges for a total of over 24 hours of playback, they'll easily keep up with whatever you're doing. Quick charge? After only 15 minutes in the charging case you can listen to 3 hours of music.

Apples Airpods überzeugen im Test mit hohem Tragekomfort, gutem bis sehr gutem Sound und einer erstklassigen Akkulaufzeit. Der Klang ist warm, voll und angenehm, lässt aber Spritzigkeit vermissen. Zu abgespeckt fällt jedoch das Bedienkonzept aus, am Kopfhörer lässt sich beispielsweise nicht einmal die Lautstärke ändern.

Reife Leistung: Die Apple AirPods gefallen mit enormer Betriebssicherheit, innovativen Funktionen mit hohem praktischen Nutzwert, recht langen Betriebszeiten, Schnellladefunktion und mit einem ausgewogenen, lebendigen Klang, der sich durch die homogene Auslegung für praktisch alle Musik-Genres eignet. Für die Leistung ist der auf den ersten Blick recht hoch anmutende Kaufpreis gerechtfertigt.
