Epson XP-960 Photo
Ink, Colour
It is difficult to improve on this printer. The device optimally meets our needs in a family household of 4.
In any case, it covers our applications very well:
- Excellent photo printing (on photo paper, of course)
- Fast ink-saving draft printing
- Scan coverage also suitable for thick documents (e.g. books)
- Wired LAN connection
- Thanks to its own email address, the printer also prints documents sent by email. The ingenious thing about this is that you can restrict this function to email sender addresses of family members and also determine the printout quality. In this way, you can avoid hackers printing out the ink if they know the email address of the printer.
- Printing from Android etc., scanning to Android device etc.
- A3 printing possible (!), double-sided printing possible, etc.
- Despite the extremely extensive built-in features, the footprint of the machine is surprisingly small. [My old A4 laser printer was also already small, but this device is even slightly smaller and can print A3...!]
How could you possibly top that? Well, the only thing that comes to mind is this:
- Automatic multi-sheet feeder for scanning. My experience with other multifunction devices shows that, especially in this price range, the hinges of such heavy feeders are often not of good quality and quickly break. If you regularly have a lot of documents to scan, I think a desktop scanner is more worthwhile.
- A second (or larger) paper drawer
P.S.: I do not work for Epson, nor am I sponsored or otherwise associated with the company.

I ordered this printer to be able to print photos myself at home. I am passionate about photography and therefore had high quality requirements for the printer. I am very satisfied with the results. The quality of the printed photos (on glossy Epson photo paper) is absolutely comparable to good prints from the photo lab. The images are razor-sharp and true to colour.
I print directly from Lightroom, everything works flawlessly. The set-up is very easy and quick, even for non-professionals. The size of the printer compared to dedicated and much more expensive A3 photo printers (Canon Pixma PRO-100, Epson SC-P400) is pleasantly small. The quality, on the other hand, is absolutely convincing.

Black and white photos have an unappetising tinge of purple/red. In this respect, the printer is simply unusable.
The colour print is also far from the screen impression, despite original Epson printer paper.
I have now ordered special (expensive) printer software to correct it. But yes, that really shouldn't be the case and at the moment I don't know whether a satisfactory coŕrection will succeed.

Overall very satisfied!
Very quick set-up. Our Win 10 PC as well as the Mac recognised the printer in the network immediately.
Printing is quick and clean. We still have to find out how to get it to always use the right paper. But that's probably down to our settings.
pretty bad printer, super slow,
- takes hell lot of minutes to prepare prior printing.so much that I needed to catch the train and I missed my train
- Often paper Jam, 8 out of 10 times paper jam in it, and when paper jams, you can not do anything else such as scan, paper jam blocks all other functions completely.
- Ink hungry, it is a scam, I will never buy any Epson printer, did not print more than a couple of sheets, and after a couple of weeks, it asks for a new cartridge, and that even replacing all of them, which will cost like 40-50 CHF.
- Super slow scan,
- Epson claimed, it is a A3 printer, however it only print A3 when fed from behind. the Scan is still A4 size, I do not have word here. how Epson fools people !!
I wasted my money on it, it is still in guarantee, but I will not even try to go for it.
because it is not a defect, this printer is a bad design, which a guarantee claim will not fix.
I am going to recycle it, I will not sell it on Ricardo, I do not want any other user after me to feel the same pain,
the hell with the Epson, I am done !!

This by far the best printer I've ever owned. I've had a lot of Epson printers in the past and they have all had problems after a while or been difficult for making good quality photo prints. This printer does everything - scan, print, copy - easily and quickly and very high-quality photos can be printed without a lot of effort.
