With 1-inch sensor and optical zoom: Oppo Find X6 Pro unveiled
The camera module is definitely an eye-catcher: Oppo has unveiled its new top smartphone, the Find X6 Pro, in China. It scores with three 50-megapixel cameras and a large 1-inch sensor.
Oppo complements the Find X6 Pro with the cheaper and slightly less well-equipped Find X6. The two smartphones will initially only be launched in China.
The hardware sounds promising
The focus of the Oppo Find X6 Pro is the main camera with 50-megapixel resolution and a 1-inch sensor from Sony. The telephoto and ultra-wide-angle cameras also have 50 megapixels each. At 1/1.56 inches, the sensor of the ultra-wide-angle camera is the same size as the main camera of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus.
The cooperation between Oppo and Hasselblad continues. For example, the Find X6 Pro has a portrait mode that simulates the colours and depth of field of lenses from the Swedish camera manufacturer. The ultra-wide-angle camera has a 110-degree field of view and can also take macro shots. The telephoto camera also has a 3x optical zoom and a sixx digital zoom.
Aside from the cameras, the Find X6 Pro also offers top equipment. It is powered by Qualcomm's currently most powerful smartphone processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. A 5000 mAh battery is also installed, which can be charged via USB-C with 100 watts or wirelessly with 50 watts.
The OLED display measures 6.82 inches, has a maximum refresh rate of 120 hertz and offers an enormous brightness of up to 2500 nits. The resolution is 3168 × 1440 pixels. The display has a cut-out for a 32-megapixel selfie camera. With IP68 certification, the entire smartphone is also dust and waterproof.
The display of the Find X6 is slightly smaller at 6.74 inches. Its three cameras also each have a resolution of 50 megapixels - albeit with smaller sensors. The battery has a slightly lower capacity of 4800 mAh. The Dimensity 9200 processor is from Mediatek and is designed to compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Lots of memory and good hardware costs
The Find X6 Pro with 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 internal memory costs the equivalent of around 800 francs or euros in China. The variant with 16 gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes of internal memory is listed for 950 francs or euros. The regular Oppo Find X6 comes with 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 internal memory for the equivalent of 600 francs or euros. They are available in the colours light brown, black and green. The brown Pro version is finished with artificial leather.
Oppo has so far only presented the new smartphones in China and is keeping quiet about an international launch. However, the predecessor model, Oppo Find X5 Pro, also found its way to Europe last year.
