A white Christmas would be nice. But so would white eyelashes. Both are hard to come by at the moment. But that should change soon. My weather forecast for the cold months: a trend front is approaching.
When fluffy snowflakes land on our eyelashes, it's a magical sight. Partly because it reminds me a little of the frosted eyelashes of Jadis, the white witch from Narnia. Especially in winter and in the absence of snow flurries, I would love to recreate this fairytale look artificially. But with what? When it comes to mascara, popular brands don't usually venture beyond black, brown or royal blue. This makes snow-white mascara an even rarer commodity than the snow itself.
The cosmetics brand Mac now seems to have granted my long-awaited wish and is launching its bestselling mascara "Macstack" - a formula that is wonderfully buildable - in a white edition. The mascara is to be part of the "Mac Underground" collection, a series of products that are produced in limited quantities at "hyper speed" and thus escape the regular workflow of product development. This allows the brand to be more agile and bring experimental products that reflect the zeitgeist from development to the end consumer more quickly. Quite cool, actually, if the mascara wasn't only available in the USA and limited to 1000 units.
So I won't be getting my hands on the product (yet). Nevertheless, I believe that this is the start of a wonderful development, because: The frosty look has what it takes to become a trend. In my opinion, the snow-white mascara won't remain an underground movement for long. I bet that it will soon become part of the standard range and inspire one or two drugstore brands to launch a similar product on the market.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
