The new Ecovacs Deebot T30 Pro cleans with hot water

The suction station with transparent upper section, which is somewhat reminiscent of a Mayan pyramid, is striking. It not only sucks dirt into a bag, but also cleans the mops with hot water and dries them straight away. There is also a tank for detergent.

The speciality of the Deebot T30 Pro is the hot water tank in the robot itself. It fills up with hot water at the station, which should make cleaning even more effective. One of the round mops also moves out to the side if required and thus cleans edges more thoroughly.

A kind of comb prevents hair from winding up

The manufacturer specifies the suction power of the Deebot T30 Pro at 10,000 pascals. By comparison, the current top model Deebot X2 Omni has a suction power of 8,000 pascals. Another new feature is the suction system with a kind of comb, which is designed to prevent long hair from winding up around the brush roll.

It is also possible to connect the station directly to the water. The transparent tank on the station is then no longer required. Fresh water is refilled automatically and the waste water is pumped out.

The new robot hoover uses a mix of camera and laser for navigation. It can recognise objects lying around, avoid them and categorise them straight away.

All in all, a well-equipped robot hoover that offers everything that is technically possible today. The question is how such devices can be further developed. Samsung is focussing on steam cleaning, others on full equipment for under 1000 francs. A model that can climb over higher doorsteps might be another idea.

Where the appliance ranks will become clear in a few months' time: In its home market of China, the new Deebot T30 Pro can already be ordered. The new top model is expected to be available in our shops in May.
