"Stiftung Warentest" selects six shower heads with which you can shower economically and comfortably

Stiftung Warentest" tested 20 shower heads with low water flow rates - from very cheap to expensive. The environmental winner comes from Grohe and six shower heads can now call themselves "test winners".

What is important when showering? The following has always been true: you should get clean, it should be comfortable, preferably with different jet types. For some years now, however, it has also been important that the showering process is economical. This is the case when you use as little water as possible. This is good for the environment and your wallet, as water is a valuable resource and heating it costs a lot of energy. If you are frugal when showering, you can save several hundred francs a year on your energy costs. I myself recently optimised my showering behaviour in the long term thanks to a shower head with a gamification approach.

The educational shower head I tested was ignored by "Stiftung Warentest" for its test field, but it still found 20 other water-saving models. Of these, 14 received the grade "good" after being tested in the laboratory, for handling and durability. Six of them scored 1.9, making them the best. You can also find four of these models in our shop:

The "Stiftung Warentest" environmental tip is the Vitalio Start 100 model from Grohe. This shower head has a flow rate of less than six litres per minute and, according to tests, also satisfactorily removes shampoo from long hair. It is by no means the case that shower heads rinse more powerfully and better the more water rushes through them. An optimised design means that a device can perform better with less water. The reverse is also true, of course.

If it is important to you that you rinse your hair quickly, a super saver like the Vitalio from Grohe is unlikely to be your model of choice. In this case, "Stiftung Warentest" recommends the Keuco Plan Blue. 8.3 litres of water flow through it per minute - compared to 5.5 with the Vitalio. This is still significantly less than the average German shower head. This value is 15 litres per minute.
