"Star Wars" illustrated book from Lego at a proud price

As part of the celebrations for "May the 4th" day, an annual highlight for "Star Wars" fans, Lego has announced a special work: "The Force of Creativity". A book celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Lego Star Wars series. The illustrated book consists of 312 pages and costs a whopping 170 francs or 150 euros. From 1 May 2024, you can pre-order it exclusively from Lego. Galaxus will probably not be able to offer it.

The book is 26 centimetres long and 31 centimetres wide. It contains interviews with more than 50 Lego and Lucasfilm insiders as well as sketches and character designs. In addition to the book, the box contains a "time capsule" titled by Lego. In it you will find the development sketch for an early print advert (1999) and a postcard with an early version of the first Lego Star Wars logo. Also included is a reproduction of a rare 2010 Toy Fair brochure, the design for the never-released Lego Star Wars minifigure Zam Wesell (2020) and a script for a never-produced animation.

High-priced books that also serve as collector's items are nothing new at Lego. With the book "The Sense of Perfection", which celebrates the Lego Technic Ferrari Daytona, Lego already published an expensive illustrated book two years ago.

Hard-core fans may be able to overlook the high price, but for me personally the book is too expensive. I'd rather spend my money on bricks than paper. <p
