Balitea: I create my own rapper iced tea
by Simon Balissat
Rapper iced teas are mushrooming at the moment. I got myself a few varieties of the two best-known and tested them. Only one variety tasted halfway to me.
The way Shirin David and Capital Bra market themselves deserves the greatest respect. Since there is less and less money to be made from selling music, musicians are increasingly marketing themselves as lifestyle brands. Particularly popular: iced teas. Younger clientele in particular are the target group, as the drinks are affordable.
If I were a teenager today, I'd definitely go for Bratee or Dirtea. For us, it was "Red Bull," which at the time was said to be illegal because it contained an extract derived from bull testicles. What a sweet, forbidden fruit!
Now I want to know what all the hype about the rapper iced teas is about. Instead of bull testicles, there's pomegranate or watermelon flavoring in it. That actually sounds quite tasty. But it's not.
The whole tasting is in the video - including an announcement at the end. It's worth watching it!
In the second part, in the creation, the tastes and impressions overwhelmed me. Flashbacks to school camp were the result.

When I flew the family nest over 15 years ago, I suddenly had to cook for myself. But it wasn’t long until this necessity became a virtue. Today, rattling those pots and pans is a fundamental part of my life. I’m a true foodie and devour everything from junk food to star-awarded cuisine. Literally. I eat way too fast.
