Nintendo Direct: New game trailers and Game Boy for the Switch

Nintendo not only has new games in its quiver, but also old ones. Switch Online subscribers can now play titles from Game Boy. If you have subscribed to the slightly more expensive Expansion Pak, you will also be served Game Boy Advance games. Whether this is fun without changing batteries remains to be seen. However, the titles available at launch sound very promising. They include classics such as "Tetris", "Fire Emblem", "The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap" and "Metroid II".

"The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom"

Not every fan may be enthusiastic about the upcoming Zelda. Especially as the graphics don't really seem to have made a leap. However, there is a leap in the price, which rises above 70 francs/euros for the first time. For other fans, the game will still provide hours of fun. For those still undecided, the new trailer could be a help. "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" will be released on 12 May 2023.

"Metroid Prime Remastered"

Those who were looking forward to news about "Metroid 4" will be left empty-handed - but should still be pleased. The reason is a remaster of "Metroid Prime". This is available immediately as a digital download. Or in physical form from 3 March 2023.

"Pikmin 4"

"Pikmin 4" shows off its best side yet. A dog-like creature in particular stands out and perfectly complements the otherwise extremely cuddly-looking world. Whether the real-time strategy game can also convince in terms of content will become clear on 21 July 2023 at the latest, when it goes on sale.

"Splatoon 3"

Nintendo has announced two paid expansions for the multiplayer shooter "Splatoon 3". "Inkopolis" will be released in spring and "Call to Order" in a second wave later. Both DLCs are available together for around 25 francs/euros.

In addition to these highlights, Nintendo has also announced a new character for "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe". The pink dinosaur Birdo will be available from spring 2023. The same DLC wave 4 will also include a new track called Yoshi's Island. Also exciting: A new release date has been set for "Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp", which was postponed last year due to the war in Ukraine. The turn-based strategy game will be released on 21 April 2023.
