The Huawei Watch Ultimate is designed to meet even the most extreme requirements
Huawei has unveiled a smartwatch for the extreme, which is designed to exude luxury despite all the technology. The Huawei Watch Ultimate dives to a depth of 100 metres, can record hiking routes for several days and is made of tear- and break-resistant materials.
Huawei is targeting extreme sports with its latest watch. The mini computer offers a diving depth of 100 metres. You don't have to do without extensive data and route recording when doing extreme sports or hiking.
Special all round: analogue watch design and robust material
Huawei describes the Watch as a luxury watch. With its design, it looks like an analogue wristwatch. It is available in a blue and a black version. The blue version is equipped with a silver strap with titanium alloy and an additional sports strap made of tear-resistant rubber. The black version only comes with a sports strap.
The case is made of amorphous zirconium. This is an alloy with special physical properties and, according to Huawei, is harder than titanium. The screen is made of 2.35 millimetre thick sapphire glass. It is said to be scratch and break resistant.

Bright display and operation with buttons
The AMOLED display is 1.5 inches in size and has a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels. The brightness reaches up to 1000 nits. This enables a clearly recognisable image even in bright sunshine.
The watch is equipped with three buttons for operation. The mode button is for switching on and switching between dive and expedition mode. On the right is a rotating crown that returns to the start screen when turned and switches the watch off when pressed. Below this is a function button for recordings and training information.
Suitable for the deep end
The Huawei Watch Ultimate is 10 ATM certified. This means it can withstand 10 bar pressure for over 24 hours. This corresponds to a water depth of 100 metres. It also has an extensive diving interface. It displays information such as current depth, dive duration and ascent speed. For personal safety, reminders and an alarm are also integrated in case you forget the time while diving. There is also an integrated function for freedivers: The hover timer shows you later how long you were at the deepest point before you ascended.

An enduring companion on land
With GPS and way-home mode, you can always find your way back. The watch also records distances, altitudes and manually or automatically set points over several days to track your route. When night falls, a dark mode switches on. Its orange contrast is normally used for displays in aircraft cockpits and is designed to minimise eye fatigue. The watch can also display important data such as altitude, sunrise and sunset as well as moon phases and tides.

Health: classic functions
Huawei has incorporated numerous fitness modes, personalised training plans as well as heart rate measurement, ECG, sleep recording and oxygen analysis from its other wearables into the Watch Ultimate.
Persistent and receptive
The 530mAh battery of the Watch Ultimate is said to last up to two weeks in energy-saving smart mode and still last over seven days with intensive use. The battery can be charged wirelessly in one hour.
The Watch Ultra can also receive calls from smartphones via Bluetooth, send quick replies for messages and is compatible with iOS and Android. The user interface used is Huawei's HarmonyOS 3.0.
The Huawei Watch Ultimate is available immediately in Europe. The recommended retail price is 899 francs or euros for the blue watch and 749 francs or euros for the black version.
