Controversial unisex trend: jeans with glittering stones
"If your life annoys you, sprinkle glitter on it", recommends a viral quote. This tip seems to be just as effective if you're bored of your run-of-the-mill jeans. At least that's what a sparkling autumn trend suggests.
If you feel like you're having a real case of déjà vu right now, you probably experienced the early 2000s in fashion. Because like so many things that are currently celebrated as hype, glittering stones were already at the top of all must-have lists back then. They adorned wide belts, settled on tops and dresses in the shape of butterflies or were used in legendary fashion by Madonna to announce her girl crush on colleague Kylie Minogue.
The sparkling rhinestones and gemstones didn't stop at trousers either around 20 years ago. A design element that brands such as Birth Of Royal Child are now gratefully picking up on again - and collecting countless likes on Tiktok & Co.
If you're thinking "extravagant and girly", you've done the maths without Future and Machine Gun Kelly. The musicians are avowed fans of the New York brand's (diamond-studded!) jeans and are also putting glittery trousers on the menswear radar for the coming season. Yes, during Fashion Weeks in Paris and Copenhagen, it was confirmed on the streets: Sparkly jeans are for everyone.
And what is there to consider when styling?
That's the beauty: nothing at all. Just like your (sorry, somewhat boring) run-of-the-mill jeans, you can combine the glittery ones with trainers and T-shirts, loafers, sweatshirts and the jackets of your choice. Even if they might not be suitable for every occasion - a day at the office, for example - these trendy trousers are definitely suitable for everyday wear, or at least for leisure.
