Among Us: animated series for the game in the works

Lie, cheat, murder or rather solve the case as a detective. The popular online multiplayer deduction game "Among Us" experienced unprecedented hype in the midst of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. An animated series based on the game is now in the works, as the US-based Variety has learnt. The American television production company CBS Studios is working closely with Innersloth to develop and produce the new animated series. This is the indie games company behind "Among Us".

The animation studio will be Titmouse, known for "Big Mouth", "Son of Zorn" and "Star Trek: Lower Decks", among others. Creator and executive producer will be Owen Dennis, who previously created the animated series "Infinity Train". Dennis will be joined by Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina of Titmouse as executive producers. Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander and Carl Neisser from Innersloth complete the production team.

The official logline is very much based on the premise of the game

Where the series will be broadcast is not yet known. Discussions are still ongoing. When the first episode will be released is also still up in the air.

The game "Among Us" was first released in 2018 and had almost 500 million active users per month at its peak in 2020. It also had more than four billion views on YouTube and more than 1.22 billion streams watched on Twitch. Among other things, Innersloth has announced a new map for this year. There is also a talented Community that expands the game with mods: for example with new game roles or game colours.

In the past, STA Studios, a YouTube channel, has already brought the game to life as an animation in a fan project.
