For over 40 years, ZEWI has been one of the leading players in the Swiss baby supplies market. In 1962, Karl Zehnder and René Leib founded ZEWI AG in Zug, with the purpose of marketing cellulose diapers from Sweden. Starting with this one product, ZEWI expanded its product range over the following years to include plastic panties, bibs and baby fashion. In 1970, the company acquired the patent for the famous ZEWI-FIX blanket. The range of crib products was now expanded and ZEWI became the leading manufacturer of baby textiles in Switzerland. In 1987, ZEWI acquired the company Atelier 49, to which bébé-jou also belonged, and ZEWI bébé-jou was born - Today, the family business is already headed by the 3rd generation.
