Hornit was founded by former lawyer and Ironman triathlete Tom de Pelet. Tom commuted to work for 7 years and saw a gap in the market for innovative cycling products. When he launched the brand in 2012, the goal was to create groundbreaking accessories that made cycling safer without sacrificing style. The first product to hit the market was the dB140 - the world's loudest bicycle horn. The horn allows cyclists to alert distracted drivers and pedestrians to their presence.
