Abu Garcia

In 1921 Carl August Borgström founded Abu Garcia. The Swedish company manufactured pocket watches, telephone clocks and taximeters. Borgström was a brilliant craftsman with a talent for light precision engineering. World War II led to a sharp decline in demand for taximeters. Undaunted, Abu Garcia henceforth focused its skills on developing precision fishing reels, which are now used by anglers around the world. Meanwhile, the portfolio of Abu Garcia includes not only fishing reels, but also bait, rods and various accessories.
